Who runs DreamDraft
DreamDraft is an independently operated service based in Michigan, United States. For account, privacy or site questions, contact DreamDraft at hello@dreamdraft.net.
This policy explains the data used by the website and its sports games. You can play a solo draft without creating an account.
What we collect and why
When you create an account, we store your email address, display name, chosen username, verification status and account settings. We also save your confirmation that you meet the minimum age and accept the account policies, with the policy version and time. Passwords are stored as salted hashes. We use these records to sign you in, recover access and check competition eligibility.
We save draft choices, game results, Daily attempts, competition entries, team names, standings and awards so you can resume play and keep a history. Pick the Stick also saves your selections, ranked preferences, email choice, deadlines and scoring history.
If you use community features, we save the profile details you enter, sharing settings, friend requests, friendships, blocks, comments and reports. Account restrictions and staff actions have audit records so the operator can investigate problems.
Our server uses your network address to limit abusive requests. The hosting server can also record request details, such as network addresses, requested pages and times, in operational logs. If you email us, we receive your message and contact details.
When you submit the contact form, we process your name, reply email address, chosen topic, message and any page link you provide. The form forwards those details to the DreamDraft inbox through our email provider. Contact messages are not added to your public profile or the game database.
What other people can see
New guest drafts are unranked practice: they stay private and do not appear on the leaderboards. Guest entries published earlier remain public under their saved guest name or Anonymous, with a Guest label, on the Daily, Time Machine, Year Draft, Franchise Draft and World Series Draft leaderboards and the separate eight-player NBA Daily, Time Machine, Year, Franchise and Finals leaderboards. Unranked practice stays private and does not appear on those boards. You may add a screened guest name, including spaces. Names stay fixed within a Daily date or other leaderboard selection. An older eligible saved solo result becomes public only if you submit it from its result page; opening a result or leaderboard does not publish old results. Guest names do not reserve an account username or create a profile. The entry belongs to your browser session and can be withdrawn from the completed result while you still have access to that session. It stops appearing if the session expires or is removed, when its drafts transfer to an account, or if staff hides it. Registered leaderboard entries require a permitted username and verified account.
Your username can appear in player search, public leaderboards and the competitions you enter. Eligible public leaderboard entries also show their selected players, seasons, positions and statistics. Profiles start public; you can choose public, friends-only or private visibility. Sharing profile statistics and awards starts off. A private profile is unlisted. Blocking changes access within DreamDraft but cannot remove copies someone already made.
Public competition pages can show manager and team names, entries and results. Private competition access follows its membership or invitation rules. League discussion is available to members; tournament discussion is available to eligible signed-in users. People who can read a discussion can see its posts. Reports are for moderation and are not posted publicly.
Other players do not receive your account email or sign-in credentials through these features. Authorized staff can access account and moderation information needed to operate the site. Avoid putting private information in names, profiles or comments.
Cookies and browser storage
DreamDraft uses the dod_session cookie to recognize a visitor or signed-in session and connect saved play to that session. It lasts up to 14 days unless replaced or removed. Your browser also stores the current draft identifier under dod.activeDraft so the game can offer a resume link.
Guest solo drafts, Daily attempts and awards belong to that session. Creating an account or signing in from the same browser transfers eligible guest progress to the account, subject to the existing Daily attempt limit; overlapping account attempts can make guest results practice. A guest publication is removed during transfer. Choose a username and verify your email for account ranking.
You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser. This signs you out and can remove access to an anonymous draft. DreamDraft has no advertising trackers and does not change its behavior in response to a browser Do Not Track signal.
Microsoft Clarity, described below, can set its own cookies, such as _clck and _clsk, to connect the pages you view in one visit and to recognize a returning browser. Clearing cookies resets them.
Services that help run the site
DigitalOcean hosts the application and its stored data. Cloudflare provides the domain's DNS service. Brevo receives your email address and the message content to deliver verification, password recovery and any event notices you explicitly request. Brevo also processes the contact-form details you submit to forward your message to the DreamDraft inbox. Account emails and optional event emails serve separate purposes; joining an event does not opt you into marketing.
If you choose Google sign-in, Google provides an account identifier, email address, verification details and basic profile information. We store the identifier, email and name to create or connect your account, sign you in and confirm account settings. We do not request Gmail, Drive or contacts access, or retain Google access or refresh tokens.
MLB supplies schedules, lineups and game statistics through requests from our server. Those requests do not include your DreamDraft email or profile. Links to an outside site take you to that service and its own policies.
Provider information: DigitalOcean, Cloudflare, Brevo, Google and MLB.
Microsoft Clarity records how visitors use our public and game pages, including clicks, taps, scrolling and page movement, so we can find confusing screens and fix problems. It does not run on account, sign-in, profile settings or admin pages, and it hides what you type into form fields. Microsoft processes this information under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
If you subscribe to DreamDraft Pro, Stripe processes your payment and card details under its own privacy policy. DreamDraft receives and keeps your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, your plan, its status and its renewal date, never your full card number.
Your choices and account closure
Use My account to change your username, manage sign-in settings or close your account. Use your profile settings for visibility and sharing. Friend and block controls manage those connections. Pick the Stick readiness and turn emails require a separate saved opt-in, which you can turn off in that event's preferences.
Closure replaces the current account email and display name, removes its username, revokes access and clears profile and friendship records. Authored discussion text is removed. It does not erase every past record. Internal account records, including a linked Google account identifier, saved games, competition names and results, and moderation or audit history can remain.
An active league commissioner may need to finish the season or transfer duties before closing the account. For help with closure, or to ask for access, correction or deletion of personal information, email hello@dreamdraft.net. We may need to verify that a request concerns your account. Applicable privacy rights depend on where you live.
How long records remain
Active account and game records remain available for the features described above. Completed results, account drafts and competition history are retained. There is no fixed automatic deletion schedule for those records or retained backups.
Session and recovery credentials have expiry limits. Expired records and abandoned unfinished visitor drafts can be removed through operator cleanup. Eligibility for cleanup is not a promise of deletion on a particular day. Closing an account does not immediately remove its information from older backups. Contact us about a specific retention or deletion request.
Access checks, password hashing and other safeguards reduce risk, but no website can promise perfect security. Do not share a password, recovery link or private invitation code.
Audience and policy changes
DreamDraft is for people age 13 or older. We do not verify dates of birth. If you believe someone below that age has provided personal information, contact hello@dreamdraft.net so we can investigate.
This page shows its effective date. We will update the policy when our practices change. A new use of Google account data will require the notice and consent applicable to that change before that use begins.
